ABOUT Difw

our story

Dublin Independent Fashion Week was founded in 2023 by a group of designers who recognised a gap in Ireland's fashion landscape: the lack of an accessible, independent platform dedicated to supporting homegrown talent.

Built by volunteers, DIFW was created to give designers opportunities to showcase their work, connect with new audiences, and build sustainable careers on their own terms. What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a week-long programme of runway shows, exhibitions, workshops, and community-led events.

Today, DIFW continues to grow its platform, partnerships, and impact while remaining rooted in the values it was founded on. With founding members now serving on the Board of Directors and a dedicated management team leading the organisation, DIFW is working towards a more connected, sustainable, and representative future for fashion in Ireland.

OUR MISSION

A woman with long red curly hair wearing a cream-colored dress with pink and red signatures written all over it. She is also wearing black boots. In the background, there are purple balloons and other people standing in a room with a concrete floor and white wall.

We are building a community that supports and enable Irish creatives to thrive.

From this, an industry emerges where designers can grow their brands at home, attract international buyers, and build a future for fashion in Ireland.

A woman with curly, orange hair wearing a pink jumpsuit walks past a group of people at what appears to be an indoor event or fashion show. The background features an industrial space with exposed walls, some neon lighting, and a sign that partially reads 'RTON HANORA.' The audience includes women dressed in stylish outfits, some holding phones or drinks.
