DIFW launches its official 2026 programming with a Coffee Morning at Hen’s Teeth - welcoming DIFW members to come together, connect and celebrate the exciting week ahead.

Hosted by Jason Andres (@pariahhilton EVERYWHERE), the morning features a diverse line-up, beginning with poetry by Molly May O’Leary, and opening words from the DIFW team with Jennie McGinn.

We’ll then explore ‘The Finishing Touch’ with renowned makeup artist Cathyanne Mac Allister, a conversation on the transformative power of beauty and its ability to elevate fashion into something otherworldly.

The programme concludes with Fashion Historian Laura Fitzachary in conversation with Úna Burke, celebrating Úna as DIFW 2026’s Honorary Designer of the Year and recognising her inspiring contribution to Irish fashion and craft.

Together, we're building a deeper connection between Ireland and the Black diaspora — through fashion, film, and music — from Sekera Mohamed Besta's unflinching diaspora storytelling, live art with Keanu the Pilot and a fashion exhibition with Floxy. As well as an after hours event focused on introducing the Irish rave scene to authentically African and Carribean electronic sounds such as Gqom, Soca, Bouyon and Kuduro as well as familiar sounds like funky techno, UK funky, Afro house, ghetto tech and of course Detroit house and techno.

DIFW 2026 Opening Ceremony: POSTMARKED - A live fashion exhibition celebrating the global impact of Irish fashion today.

On 10 September 2026, Dublin Independent Fashion Week officially launches its 2026 programme with POSTMARKED, a live fashion exhibition taking place at Dublin’s historic General Post Office.

Rather than a conventional runway, POSTMARKED transforms the GPO into a choreographed fashion experience, inspired by the rituals and visual language of the post office.

Featuring 60 signature looks from Ireland’s emerging and established designers, models will move through the GPO in carefully choreographed groups before arriving at the historic postal counters for photography.

The event creates a powerful meeting point between Irish heritage and contemporary culture, celebrating the incredible talent shaping Irish fashion today and its growing global impact as one of Ireland’s most recognisable cultural exports.

Join us at the GPO on 10 September and experience the opening of DIFW26 in style.

CONFLICT TO CREATION is an exhibition showcasing a collection of one-of-a-kind handmade garments and artworks created from dead stock military surplus materials. Through sustainable design and creative reuse, the exhibition explores how materials associated with conflict can be transformed into meaningful works that promote reflection, resilience, and positive change. The collection demonstrates the potential of art and fashion to reimagine the legacy of war, turning symbols of division into expressions of creativity and hope.

The event will also feature a separate exhibition space showcasing a curated selection of vintage garments from the designer's personal collection, offering visitors insight into another dimension of sustainable fashion through garment longevity, reuse, and preservation. Together, these elements provide a multifaceted exploration of sustainability, craftsmanship, and creative innovation in fashion.

SCULPTED: An Evening of Wearable Form is an intimate in-store event at The Collective, celebrating the relationship between jewellery, fashion and sculpture as part of Dublin Independent Fashion Week.

The evening will centre around Madeleine Blaine’s sculptural jewellery, giving guests an insight into the inspiration, craftsmanship and creative process behind the collection. Hand-carved wax forms, tools, process imagery and finished pieces will show how each design develops from an initial idea into wearable sculpture. Madeleine will be present throughout the evening to share the stories behind her work and discuss her approach to design.

Two independent fashion designers @chloecookdesigns @ode.to.mna will also showcase their work, with models wearing their designs alongside Madeleine’s jewellery. Together, the collections will explore how jewellery and clothing interact with shape, texture, movement and the body.

Presented in a relaxed, gallery-inspired setting, SCULPTED brings together independent designers to celebrate craftsmanship, creativity and considered design within Dublin’s independent fashion community.

Meet Canvasé, a new contemporary womenswear label founded and creatively directed by Harshitha Sashidhar, creating distinctive, wearable clothing through concept-led collections and dialogue with artists and other creatives.

Its first collection, "Observed", begins with three familiar parts of everyday life — people, objects and the patterns created through movement — and asks what happens when we look at them a little longer. These observations are translated into clothing through original prints, illustration, embroidery and unexpected details.

Creative exchange sits at the heart of Canvasé, with artists and creatives responding to one another’s work across clothing, imagery and storytelling.

For Observed Live, Canvasé opens up the world behind its first collection. Clothes sit alongside the observations, artwork and processes that shaped them, while collaborating artist Marion Belliot sketches live. An intimate encounter with a new label — and an invitation to see how something ordinary travels from observation to idea, and finally, into something you can wear.

Experience a live presentation of original garments by Stephanie Johnson, brought to life through a series of dynamic, timed poses. Join us in person for an engaging and creative fashion-led workshop with illustrator Louise Boughton influenced by the designers of Dublin Independent Fashion Week.

Set to a runway-inspired soundtrack, this immersive session invites you to respond directly to garments, capturing shape, silhouette and attitude through expressive drawing. The focus is on using line, gesture and figure studies to translate each look into your own visual language, with live guidance and creative prompts throughout. Expect fashion, music and nonstop creativity. You’ll leave with a series of original fashion illustrations, new drawing techniques, and a sharper eye for reading and reimagining clothing through art.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Alex Nugent presents Hy-Brasil.

Named after the mysterious disappearing island off the west coast of Ireland which has been shrouded in folklore and an assumed mirage. He reimagines how inhabitants of the island who have been cut off from modern civilisation idress and interact with clothes that have washed ashore from the mainland and shipwrecks over the centuries. This collection is made up of hours of hand-work from appliqué and hand sewing to embroidery and embellishment. The collection is mainly gowns and evening-wear.

A pop-up celebrating an exclusive capsule collaboration with Taippe and Irish/Nigerian screen-print artist and painter, Misschiif. The collection features a series of 1/1 pieces, with each "Taippe" garment individually screen printed to create a completely unique work. Éadach Ealaíne is an immersive runway experience exploring Ireland’s new age and reflecting the feelings and perspectives of young creatives towards the current artistic culture in this country. It asks difficult questions about cultural identity, creative opportunity and artistic ambition, while celebrating the richness of Irish culture and the people shaping its future.

Created by a group of Independent Irish designers and artists navigating Ireland’s new cultural landscape. The show will explore the perspectives of a new generation of creatives through a celebration of Irish identity. Both rebellious and celebratory, the show navigates feelings of pride, frustration and optimism. Rather than offering answers, Éadach Ealaíne asks whether Ireland can become a place where artists not only emerge, but choose to stay.

Branded Royal makes clothes the slow way. Every piece starts as something that already exists: Sourced, taken apart by hand, and rebuilt with intention rather than started from scratch. It takes longer and asks more, but the result is clothing with history already stitched into it, not history erased in the name of speed.
The label holds a different idea of luxury, not something that comes off a production line, but something made by hand, one piece at a time. What's mass produced is artificial. What's made this way isn't.

Ciara Emilie's first event will be held in Hot Box Sauna Boland MIlls. It will be a ticketed event.

For the price of your ticket you will get access to a newly refurbished sauna and cold plunge, meet the designer of the new innovative swimwear and ask questions, a poster board explaining the fabric, the technique and the innovative closure in the swimwear, you will have a chance to try on the samples available to gauge size and fit, feel the fabric, see the designs and prints up close and personal. There will be music and light refreshment afterwards and a chance to chat and connect with like minded people in your community that too love fashion and wellness. And you will be able to pre order on the date too.

Keynote designer Claire Garvey, renowned for intricate, hand-crafted wearable art, with credits spanning the Oscars, Cannes, New York and London Fashion Weeks and Junk Kouture, opens her creative process live.

Bring materials you'd otherwise throw away: Claire guides you through making your own sustainable wearable art. A styling and colour analysis session then shows you how to wear it and anything else in your wardrobe.

This isn't a lecture. You participate, create, collaborate, network and build real skills, leaving with practical knowledge, industry insight and connections inside Ireland's fashion and creative community.

Calling all sustainable fashion lovers! As part pf DIFW, Second Best Collective will be hosting their second ever curated sustainable market. After a sold out and highly anticipated first event in August, they are back and better than ever.

Second Best Collective was created by three Irish vintage sellers, who wanted to create a community of fellow sustainable shopping lovers. The market will have a curated selection of Irish vintage sellers, jewellery makers and upcylers, as well as music, surprises and freebies on the day. There will be installations in the room aimed at encouraging conversation about sustainability and fashion in Dublin. The market will be held in Montague Studios, just a short walk from St. Stephen’s Green.

Tickets are divided into two time slots, and stock from the sellers will be continuously replenished during the day. And remember, first is the worst, second hand is the best!

Join jewellery designer-makers Alana Conlon and Ciara Egan for a pop-up shop and talk, in conversation with Laura Fitzachary (Seek the Historic) exploring the ideas, materials, and processes behind their independently made work. They will discuss their individual approaches to making, the inspirations and environments that shape their work, their choice and use of materials, and their commitment to inclusive design. The talk will offer insights into their independent practice and their influences, including the built environment, nature, myth, and the ancient world; their explorations of non-traditional materials; and the craftsmanship behind their work.

During the pop-up shop you will be able to view and purchase work directly from Alana and Ciara, and talk with them about their practice.

Enigmatic Signification is goth milliner Paul Van Sickle’s debut clothing collection, featuring looks inspired by mold, the deep sea, and spite at the state of the world. Equal parts Fashion Show and Class Warfare, Enigmatic Signification will premiere Sunday September 13 at the Lir Academy of Dramatic Art.

The show takes its name from the philosophical notion of a message sent before meaning is obvious, usually because the person sending it doesn't fully know their intention either; leaving a kind of permanent question mark that ignites the engines of desire, character, and impression.

Nature Breathing is a collaborative fashion performance and art exhibition that explores the fragile relationship between humanity and nature. Developed by two independent fashion and textile designers, POVVUK and MARMAR, whose practices intersect through a shared interest in ecology, craftsmanship and experimental textile processes.

The fashion performance is passionate, organic and unique in nature, while highlighting sustainable practices. POVVUK goes beyond knitting, combining second-hand yarn,recycled fabrics, upcycling, and embroidery to give existing materials a new life. POVVUK’s collection is inspired by the likes of seaweed and moss, taking in marine and forest ecosystems. MARMAR creates one of a kind up-cycled and felted wool garments that are derived from organic textures, patterns and imperfect surfaces. By combining various printing techniques and materials, MARMAR is able to evoke growth, decay and regeneration.

Orna Costelloe Dunne is a fashion and textiles designer that works with printed textiles and found objects. They have upcycled sculptured garments that work in different themes, such as how technology and art blur lines between sustainable fashion that doesn't cost the plant. Their collection is highlighting how we as humans are consumed by our phones how it consumes our mind and body.

The event’s art exhibition, showcases work by local Irish artists working in various mediums, who responded to the theme of ‘Nature Breathing’. Expect to find breath-taking photographs, paintings, sculpture and more.

After Dark: Dressing the Dancefloor brings together Irish creatives working across fashion, music, photography, film and nightlife to explore the enduring relationship between fashion and queer club culture, and why some of the most interesting conversations about style are happening after dark.

From getting dressed as ritual and performance to the role nightlife plays in shaping identity, creative communities and independent fashion, After Dark is designed as a conversation rather than a traditional panel. Threads of Motion explores the craft and fashion practices that have developed within Ireland’s pole community, showcasing performers as designers, makers and artists. Through making, upcycling, modifying and collaborating on performance garments, the community has developed a distinct visual culture shaped by movement, costume, styling and the physical demands of pole.

We are the performers, the models and the designers. Each performer showcasing garments that are not just finished when they are made, they are activated when they move with us on the pole.

Expect dynamic performances exploring fashion through movement, including styles of glamour, flow, exotic and power. We are inviting you to experience an existing fashion culture of a sophisticated, visual culture of movement, outfits, styling and presentation where the dancer and garment exist in a collaborative relationship.
